Seungyu and Seryeong spend the night together as a married couple and part to go on their ways. Seryeong returns to nurse Sung. Sung dies and Suyang is in rage. Suyang goes to Hamgildo and starts a rebellion.
Shin Myeon takes Jeong Jong to Hanseongbu to capture Seungyu. Jong knows he will be executed and tells Princess Gyeonghye not to tell Seungyu about the execution to prevent him from being captured.
Seryeong brings Seungyu to see his family and becomes installed as the princess. Lee Gae, Jeong Jong and some other scholars plan to assassinate Suyang. Seungyu joins in their cause.
Prince Suyang finally becomes the king. Seryeong is mad and refuses to enter the palace. Seungyu attacks Shin Sukju, but Myeon appears and gets injured instead. Gong Chilgu tells Myeon that someone survived the boat that was headed to Ganghwa.
Seryeong returns home to recover from the arrow wound. She refuses to marry Shin Myeon when she finds out that her father lied again. Shin Myeon contacts Gong Chilgu to find out who abducted Seryeong. Danjong decides to concede the throne to Prince Suyang.
Seungyu abducts Seryeong. Geumseong fails to assassinate Suyang and gets arrested. Myeon goes to find Seryeong, but Seungyu and Seryeong get away with Jo Seokju's help. Seungyu lures Suyang out using Seryeong. Seungyu aims an arrow at Suyang and Myeon aims an arrow at Seungyu.
Seungyu hears that his sister-and-law and Agang died. He is set on getting revenge for his family. Suyang hears about Geumseong's plan to kill him. He comes up with a plan to eliminate Geumseong, Jeongjong and Gyeonghye. Seungyu follows Seryeong and sneaks into the house on the day of the wedding.
Seryeong finds out about Prince Suyang's plan and sneaks out to warn Seungyu of the danger. But, she is captured by the servants before she gets a chance to tell him. Prince Suyang heads to Kim Jongseo's house to kill him. Because of a message sent by Seryeong, Seungyu leaves the house before Suyang arrives.
Seungyu goes to see Seryeong. He confesses his feelings. Seryeong tries to tell him who she is, but misses the chance. Kim Jongseo pressures Suyang's people to protect Danjong. While planning a way to restore his power, Suyang finds out that Seryeong is seeing Seungyu again.
Seryeong apologizes to Seungyu and tries to tell him how she feels about him, but Seungyu is cold to her to hide his feelings for her. Munjong passes away and Prince Suyang is about to take power when Kim Jongseo appears with a royal order. Seungyu goes to see Seryeong.
Prince Suyang finds out that Seryeong pretended to be the princess and met with Seungyu. Despite Seryeong's plea to save his life, he tries to have Seungyu killed. Kim Jongseo makes a deal with Prince Suyang to resign from his position in return for sparing his son's life. Seungyu leaves, but returns quickly when Munjong collapses at the princess's wedding.
Seungyu finds out that Seryeong isn't the princess and looks for her. He is accused of insulting the princess and interrogated by the king. Munjong wants to believe in his innocence, but the ministers and servants continue to write appeals to have him executed. Seryeong goes to prison to tell him who she is and save him when her father appears.
Princess Gyeonghye tells Seryeong that Kim Seungyu is going to marry her and that she shouldn't see him anymore. Prince Suyang invites Myeon to his house where he runs into Seryeong and finds out she isn't the princess. Princess Gyeonghye finds out that Seryeong met Seungyu again and calls them both to her quarters.
