SoundTrek arrived in Uzbekistan with butterflies in their stomachs and successfully completed their performance to the crowd's applause. They proved that music knows no boundaries, and that even non-Koreans can perform gugak if they have enough passion. Their journey, however, is far from over.
With one-on-one coaching from their mentors and countless hours of repeated practice, their skills have now reached new heights. Then, an exciting piece of news arrives — Sound Trek has been invited to perform at the Uzbekistan National celebration, the homeland of Alex!
Gugak still feels unfamiliar to the members. But they never gave up. Then one day, a gugak expert joins them for an arrangement collab. Sound Trek decides to reinterpret the famous minyo(folk song), “Sarangga” in their own unique style.
Finally, the five members of Sound Trek have been selected! From accordion, flute, and Morin Khuur to djembe, and even a Mexican sorikkun (Korean traditional singer), they are now ready to write a new page of gugak. Their mentor, Kwon Songhee, former lead vocalist of the band Leenalchi, believes their potential, supporting every step of their way.
