While rehearsing a song alone in her cafe, Strawberry is interrupted by the arrival of Jadeybug. The poor ladybug is stressed out because her twin cousins, Kadiebug and Sadiebug, left her a message that they are coming to visit for a whole week. Jadey is unable to host them because she's having her guest room repainted.
Blueberry ordered some Zippy Gro daisy seeds and planted them in her garden. She is surprised that they've sprouted in less than a day despite their descriptive moniker. Strawberry comes by to admire them and Blueberry is reminded that the new cookbook Strawberry ordered has arrived. Strawberry is excited to try out the new corn muffin recipe, as its level of difficulty will be a challenge for her. Strawberry follows the muffin recipe, mixes the ingredients, and double checks it.
It's a busy day at Lemon's salon, a charming place that is more than just a hair salon it's one of favorite places for Strawberry and her friends to relax and socialize. All the girls are getting their hair done for the gala grand opening of Mr. Longface's new lawn-bowling and croquet club. They're spirited and laughing and chatting and having a great time, as Lemon runs from one of her friends to the next, doing hair and nails, serving tea and cookies.
Strawberry Shortcake's friends watch her with wide eyes as she everrrrr-so-gently squirts a layer of blueberry smoothie into a tall glass, trying to not disturb the five other multi-colored layers beneath it. It's her tenth attempt to create the world's first Rainbow Smoothie! She has even painted one wall of her café rainbow colors in honor of the soon-to-be new item on the menu. No one dares breathe for fear of spoiling the delicate touch of a master smoothie-squirter at work.
From the BerryWorks to Strawberry's Café, everyone is excited about who will win this year's Spring Flower Festival! Berry Bitty City is decorated with colorful banners proclaiming the big event. Lemon works the hardest. For weeks she has watered her violets by day and sung to them at night, doing everything she can to win first prize. With the contest just a day away, Lemon is at her garden early.
At the next Storytime, Strawberry is going to read a new poem. We see her at the podium as she finishes writing it, one afternoon when no one else is in the café except Custard and Pupcake. Strawberry clears her throat and reads the poem aloud. It's a simple, sweet rhyme about the magic of making wishes on falling stars. She tries a few different rhymes as she goes, noting them on her paper. She is startled to hear applause from Mr. Longface Caterpillar who has heard her recital.
Strawberry Shortcake's friendship letter to children around the world elicits an invitation from Crepes Suzette to visit Pearis and the Pieffel Tower. Some of the other children and Custard are not so sure that it is wise to visit a strange land.
Strawberry Shortcake travels to magical Holidayland with Honey Pie Pony, searching for the perfect presents to give her friends. A trip to the North Pole and a visit with Santa make this adventure truly wonderful, until a pile of melting snowballs turns Strawberry's carefully selected presents into a soggy mess. It all ends well, though, when Strawberry's friends remind her that the best gift of all is the gift of friendship.
It's another windy winter day, and the postal bees are staying indoors-the wind is too strong for their berry bitty wings. "We don't know when the next mail will get through!" It's bad news for Blueberry, who has been anxiously awaiting the next installment of a Patty Persimmon Detective story. If only she could get to the post office in Berry Bitty Dale where her package is waiting!
The girls are all gathered at the café. Strawberry is experimenting making applesauce from scratch with a mallet (and making a mess) while the rest busily make their own wrapping paper and bows for the annual gift exchange they hold in celebration of First Frost. Mr. Longface stops by and Strawberry offers him some fresh applesauce but he declines, as he doesn't care for it. He's only there for some tea and, being that he's new in town, doesn't know what the group is up to.
All of Berry Bitty City is gathered around to watch the last snowberrykin melt. As the last bit of snow forms a puddle, a cheer goes up, spring is here! It's now time for the annual BerryFest. But with Princess Berrykin out of town on business, who will be the BerryFest Princess and preside over the festival?! Everyone is abuzz with how to go about choosing the Princess and what her duties will be. Postmaster Bee declares the only fair way to go about it is to hold an election. Everyone agrees.
Friends from all over the world descend on Strawberryland to take part in the first Great Friendship Festival. Strawberry thinks the festival will provide a wonderful opportunity to see the world through different eyes.

The fib snowballs when the Queen of Berryvania reads Apple's review and orders Strawberry's new cake for her ball.
Strawberry's world-traveling cousin Apple Dumplin' stops at Berry Bitty City. What starts as a brief visit becomes a series of comical misadventures that ends with Apple finding a new home with Strawberry and her friends.
Strawberry gets an unsettling message from her friend Caramel Corn, who owns a quaint little farm out in the Strawberryland countryside. Things aren't going so well for Caramel Corn: her farm animals seem to be running away.
