The Top Gear boys are once again let loose in the USA, this time for an epic road trip up the east coast. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are comparing the Mercedes SLS, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Ferrari 458 Italia. Along the way they undertake a series of challenges culminating in a fight to find the fastest way into New York, all in the name of crowning the world's greatest sports car.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to find a trio of cars which are equally at home on the race track as they are at transporting a family to the shops, all for a budget of £5,000. They end up with a BMW M3, a Mercedes 190E and a Ford Sierra Cosworth which they then put through their paces in Europe's home of speed - Germany.
