Each year the obsessed world record tarpon fishermen descend on Homosassa, Florida in pursuit of a shot to see a potential world record tarpon. We arrive during a time when it's suspected that the tarpon may arrive and we could have a shot to cast at one of these giants. We join Captain Ronnie Richards and Captain Jim Farrier for a look into the waiting game they endure for a chance to have their names in the record books.

We join Captain Mark Johnson for a shot at tarpon but do to extremely tough conditions we shift gears and setup for sharks. After catching barracuda for bait on traditional gear we set a chum slick and a great variety of sharks quickly find their mark. We "leader" a very nice Black Tip Shark and this opportunity lets Conway reflect on his obsession of Makos in San Diego.

The smallmouth bass are beginning their annual spawning ritual and opportunities to take very nice fish on the fly present themselves. In addition to bass, there's a chance to tango with giant musky in some stretches of the river

We join Dave McCoy and Reid Curry from Emerald Water Anglers and cast diligently from the shore at multiple locations before landing a sea-cutty. During our adventure we meet up with Chris Santella author of "50 Places to Fly Fish Before You Die." We rejoin Mia and Marty Sheppard and learn the significance of Spey casting which allows casting long distances with minimal efforts. "Redside" trout also live in the river and will take flies providing another excellent opportunity when conditions are right.

The John Day River in north central Oregon provides some of the greatest fishing diversity in the United States. The river has one of the largest wild steelhead runs in the lower 48 and also has one of the largest populations of smallmouth bass. Anglers who pursue these waters can easily catch over one hundred smallies in a day.

Conway Bowman travels to Andros South in the Bahamas to fly fish the clear warm waters there for bonefish. Conway also runs into friends from the Fly Fishing Journal who happened to be fishing the same weekend.
