Hunter Pace, under the disguise of Shira, Duels Yusei Fudo in the Fortune Cup, using a Deck he's designed to use against Jack Atlas.
Luna and Dexter try to cheer up Leo after his loss to Greiger. They approach Yusei, who tells him the experience he got from losing should prove useful later on. Leo encourages Yusei to win, just before Akiza passes them. She glares intensely at Yusei as she passes. The other three quickly step out of her way. Leo wonders what her problem is.
The Fortune Cup has now begun. The first Duel is Luna vs. Greiger. But since Luna doesn't want to participate, Leo disguises himself and Duels in her place.
Yusei Fudo decides to enter the Fortune Cup, after Lazar blackmailed him to do so, if he wants to see his friends at Satellite alive. On his way, he meets up with his old friends from the Facility, Bolt Tanner and Yanagi and his new friend, Leo at the Daimon Area. Leo and his friend Dexter went to the Daimon Area in order to challenge the mysterious Black Rose.
Yusei Fudo is left unconscious after his harsh Duel with Trudge. The twins Leo and Luna rescue him. After Yusei regains consciousness, Leo demands a Duel with him. Meanwhile, Trudge waits outside in the hopes of capturing Yusei.
Das Duell steht kurz vor der fünften Runde. Marik, der Bakura kontrolliert, scheint zu ahnen, dass Yugi die Götterkarten ziehen will und fasst einen Plan: Der Böse Geist soll Bakuras Körper verlassen. Bakura bricht daraufhin in der Arena zusammen. Marik rechnet jedoch nicht mit dem eigenen Willen des Bösen Geists.
Das Duell zwischen Bakura und Yugi ist in vollem Gange. Da Yugi in jeder Runde nur einen Zug machen darf, ist natürlich Bakura im Vorteil. Zusätzlich setzt ihn Bakura mit der Schicksalstafel unter Druck. Doch mit Monsterreanimation schafft es Yugi, Bakura einen Strich durch die Rechung zu machen.
Yami-Yugi macht sich Sorgen um seine Freunde und begibt sich auf die Suche nach ihnen. Die Raritätenjäger können ihn abfangen und zu einem Duell herausfordern.
Obwohl Slifer, der Himmelsdrache, immer mächtiger wird, zieht Yugi noch ein Ass aus dem Ärmel. Er fängt Slifer in einer Endlosschleife und kann dadurch so lange neue Karten ziehen wie er will.
Strings alias Marik schafft es endlich, seine ägyptische Götterkarte auszuspielen. Für Yugi scheint die Situation damit endgültig aussichtslos.
