When the punks in the Hooligang cruise into Quiet Lawn Cavern, they think no one there's got the guts to stand up to them so they trash the place.
After the Shane hideout is ransacked, the gang trades in one of Eli's prized slugs for new gear. When Eli has second thoughts they go back to get it, only to learn that it's been sold to Dr. Blakk, along with hundreds of others to be transformed into feral Ghoul Slugs. Eli refuses to let his slug or any other get ghouled, so the team breaks in to Blakk's fortress to free them. While inside, they learn of Blakk's plan to conquer Slugterra.
Now its Eli's turn to be Slugterra's next Shane, whether he's ready or not! Unfortunately, the slugslinging tournament he enters to prove that he's ready, pretty quickly shows that he's not!
15-year-old Eli Shane is a regular kid except for one thing: he comes from a long line of Shanes, each who has journied from the surface to protect Slugterra and the slugs that make the world special.
Tad's hypnotic slug Pieper has gone megamorph, his gang of supporters all have Gattler blasters, and Tad's control over his army of ghouls is stronger than Dr. Blakk's ever was. The Shane Gang are under non-stop ghoul fire as they struggle to put a stop to Tad's plans and end the mass ghouling of slugs once and for all.
Tad is still missing after the slug-out with the Shadow Clan, but the Gang have to set off without him when reports start coming in of slugs disappearing all across the 99 caverns. As they pursue the trail of missing slugs, the mystery grows darker when it leads them straight to Dr. Blakk's old stronghold!
The Shane Gang take Tad under their wing, training him to blast like a pro with Eli's old blaster and teaching him to live by the slugslinger's code. Tad takes to it like a natural, and as Kord says, it looks like they have another "slugslinging savant from the Surface" on their hands. But their training will be put to the test when Tad accompanies them to a showdown with the Scrap Force...and the Shadow Clan!
The Shane Gang return home to the 99 caverns to find Gateway Cavern overrun with slugs-in Eli's absence, the Shadow Clan have governed by putting the slugs before the people, and the result is chaos! It's up to Eli to restore the balance, but the Shadow Clan aren't as friendly as they once were...and that's saying something. Help comes from an unexpected source-Tad and his slug Pieper, who just arrived from the Surface!
Junjie, Eli and the Gang rally their friends and even some old enemies-to help them take down the Emperor.
The Emperor has returned! After the Shane Gang failed to defeat the Iron Warrior, the Emperor sets to work creating even more Unstoppable Warriors to reclaim the Eastern Caverns. The Shane Gang search for a way to defeat the new creations, but when the Emperor places a bounty on Junjie's head, they also have to deal with the Dai-Fu and hordes of the Emperor's Underlords.
When Pronto accidentally uses the Emperor's sword blaster, he can suddenly do no wrong. Lady Dai-Fu manipulates Underlord Holt into trapping the Shane Gang with a new superweapon: the Iron Warrior!
To master the mysterious slug-slinging art of Slug Fu, Eli must train alone with Junjie. That means leaving behind the rest of the Shane Gang-as well as all of Eli's slugs, and the ultra-powerful Elementals! Pronto vows to keep the Elementals safe, but proves so annoying that they run-er, hop-away!
To save Slugterra and the Elemental Slugs reaches its climax as the Shane Gang face a final showdown.
