Drop Dead Diva S3E5

Drop Dead Diva S3E5

After speaking to Jefferson High School's Fashion Club about modeling careers, Stacy enlists Jane to help Nina and Julia, two students who were denied a couples ticket to their senor prom because they are gay. Though it comes during a testy performance review by Parker, Jane agrees to take the pro bono case. When she threatens to file a lawsuit, the principal agrees to raise the girls' concerns with the superintendant. Meanwhile, when bailiff Hank Sullivan is ditched by his mail-order bride, Teri refers him to Grayson. And as Grayson looks to sue the matchmaking service that assured Hank that his $12,000 membership fee was well spent, Jane discovers that her new boyfriend Bill Kendal is seeing other women. While struggling with her feelings about Bill, Jane throws herself into representing Nina and Julia. After Nina's dad insists that she stop the lawsuit, a favorable ruling by the judge prompts the school to cancel the prom. As the case begins attracting a lot of publicity, Jane is blindsided when Parker takes over, and when the judge schedules the trial for the following month, Jane protests that the delay will mean that the girls won't be able to attend their prom. Meanwhile, though Grayson is sure that mail-order bride Irina Nesterenko's courtroom apology has hurt Hank's case, Kim looks to persuade another jilted husband to testify. Because of Jane's tenacity, Principal Duffy agrees to allow the girls to attend the prom as a couple if they will drop their lawsuit. However, when Duffy won't admit other gay couples too, Nina and Julia refuse to accept the principal's offer – with the full support of Nina's dad. Finally, as Jane and Stacy decide to hold their own prom for the girls and their friends, Grayson discovers that Irina conspired with the other man she jilted to rip off Hank. As Kim looks to help Grayson get over being left at the altar, Jane uses the prom she is throwing to break up with Bill.

The Nanny S1E9

The Nanny S1E9

Though excited to learn that she will be working on Christmas Day, Fran is surprised to hear that Maxwell will be producing a benefit in Washington D.C. Told that the Sheffields will celebrate Christmas one day early, Fran is further disappointed to find that Maxwell farms out all of his gift buying to a personal shopper. So, upon finding that the children don't believe in Santa and that what Grace really wants is to have her father home on Christmas, Fran decides to have a talk with Maxwell -- until Niles points out that he is preparing the staff s Christmas bonuses. Revealing that C.C. will also be joining him in Washington but insisting that their trip will be all business, Maxwell is nonetheless persuaded to do his own shopping for a change. So, when Fran relies on Niles' assessment of her bonus and buys the children some expensive gifts, she discovers that, instead of money, Maxwell bought her a beautiful vase. Faced with having to either take back her gifts or somehow pay the bill, Fran declines Niles' offer of a loan and goes to see Val's Uncle Paulie to pawn the vase. But, when Maxwell mentions it later, Fran guiltily rushes to buy it back and, forced to pay twice what she got, sells her grandmother's watch instead. Receiving a call from Niles with word about Fran and the watch, Maxwell decides to make things right. So, leaving C.C. behind at the airport, he intercepts the family at St. Patrick's Cathedral and finds Fran in a confessional seeking help with her financial difficulties. Finally, after returning the watch and then accidentally sitting on the vase, Maxwell ends up at the hospital being treated for his wounds, while Grace gets her wish and renews her belief in Santa Claus.
