This Kentucky trip is one we'll be talking about for a long time. Three longbeards hit the ground, but honestly, it's the time spent in the woods with good friends that made this hunt what it was. We had birds gobbling, lots of laughs, and a memories that will last a lifetime, and that's what makes turkey hunting so addicting. These are the kind of hunts you don't take for granted.
Some mornings just remind you why we do this. We found ourselves in Southwest Alabama on one of the prettiest mornings a turkey hunter could ever ask for — cool air, soft light breaking through the timber, and gobbles echoing through the hardwoods. Even better, we got to share it with a great friend, and that's what makes hunts like this truly special. This is what turkey hunting is all about — good friends, beautiful mornings, and chasing longbeards in God's country.
This one is special. We took Ron aka “Don”, a WoodHaven employee who helps assemble our pot calls, out to Tennessee for a turkey hunt he'll never forget. After 35 years of not harvesting a Turkey, Don finally gets his shot.

The hunt for FREAK SHOW became a thrilling adventure after I spotted him on Cabela's trail cam. Having hunted Kentucky for over a decade and established my own properties—Bootleggers Ridge and Stonewall Plantation—I was eager for the chance at such a remarkable deer. Despite having drawn a coveted caribou tag through Worldwide Trophy Adventures' TAGS Program, the allure of FREAK SHOW was too strong to resist. After careful planning and waiting for the right wind, I finally set out on September 11. With my crossbow in hand, I waited anxiously in the stand, my heart racing as the shadows lengthened. Just when I thought the evening might end without a sighting, a movement caught my eye, sending my pulse soaring. With caution, FREAK SHOW appeared.
Join Mark Peterson on an epic hunting adventure in the stunning landscapes of New Zealand as he goes after Whitetail deer. Get ready for heart-pounding action, breathtaking scenery, and valuable tips and tricks from a seasoned hunter.

How important is the wild harvest to communities in North America? Dan Cabela travels from Kansas to Newfoundland in search of the answer, meeting rural communities that rely on the yearly cycle of wild game harvest.
In Newfoundland, the rhythm of life is dictated by survival. It's a rugged existence, but the DIRT crew discovered it breeds a wild, abundant kinship. Their guide, chef Jeremy Charles, turned Newfoundland's raw ingredients into world-class cuisine. He took them out to stock up his way—with fishing poles, shotguns, and foraging baskets. That resourcefulness fueled a final feast of everything from moose tongue to fresh urchin, served at a classic Newfoundland “shed party.”
