Mark Peterson finishes the South America Waterfowl Slam in the Andes at 15,000 feet elevation. With only 2 days left, he is able to capitalize on every opportunity and take the remaining 6 species needed on the list of 20. It's been an incredible journey, and it all comes down to this!
Mark Peterson closes out the half way point on the South America Waterfowl Slam. On just the third day of the hunt, he is able to take a Chilean Wigeon and a Rosy Billed Pochard which make species number 9 and 10 of the 20 on his list. Mark is still sharing the blind with Matt Gindorff, a WTA consultant, and they discuss waterfowl hunting in Argentina and how it compares to that of the U.S.
Today Mark sets out to harvest the Gambel's and Scaled quail, but doesn't know what the whole day will have in store. Turns out Mark's not only completes the Arizona Upland slam but Mark ends up harvesting all three Arizona species of quail the mearns, the gambel's, and the scaled quail in one day. Not that many people can say they have even completed the Arizona Quail slam let alone do it in one day. Congrats Mark!
