Colour change with the power of thought

Colour change with the power of thought

The Munich-based startup brainboost used the new and improved colour-changing effect in a one-off collaboration with the BMW Group at rad°hub aimed at raising awareness of mental health. With the help of brainboost, the BMW iX Flow was connected directly to the brain of the rad°hub delegates using an electroencephalograph (EEG), which records the brain's electrical activity. “The colour patterns of the BMW iX Flow react to brain activity and reflect the level of activity,” explains brainboost CEO Philipp Heiler. “Once the brain is at rest, the changes of patterns on the iX Flow also become calmer and more rhythmical.” A special animation was activated if delegates managed to maintain this state for several seconds. Thus, the participants were able to gradually calm and relax their brains under the guidance of the brainboost experts and with the help of neurofeedback via the iX Flow. This matures the knowledge of which strategies work best to specifically shut down one's own brain activity for relaxation, e.g. in everyday working life.

2022 Peugeot 308

2022 Peugeot 308

The sixth generation Opel/Vauxhall Astra and third generation Peugeot 308 are both based on the Stellantis EMP2 platform and, unsurprisingly, score very similarly across all four areas of assessment. Both the offset test and the full-width crash test highlighted marginal chest injury protection for average male and small female drivers, and neither car was equipped with a centre airbag for far-side crash protection, a countermeasure which is increasingly common on modern cars. Both cars offer plenty of crash avoidance technology but do not include some of the latest advancements introduced in the market. The cars' four-star ratings apply also to their PHEV variants.

TechDay Digital Light

TechDay Digital Light

Safety and customer satisfaction come first at Audi. They are part and parcel of the success of the company with the four rings. In that context, light technology is steadily growing more important and creating a wider range of possibilities and perspectives, from added safety for the driver, to external communication and individualization. Systematic light digitization is making all of this possible. It is particularly visible in the new Audi A8: the forward-looking Digital Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED rear lights raise the customer experience to a whole new level: for the first time in any Audi model, light is completely digitized. The car can be individualized even further through its digital OLED rear lights. The Digital Matrix LED headlights also include three new functions: advanced traffic information, a lane light with direction indicator lights on highways, and an orientation light on country roads. These features not only demonstrate Audi's “Vorsprung durch Technik,” they also add value.

Hispano Suiza showcases its history in the Peralada Castle Museum

Hispano Suiza showcases its history in the Peralada Castle Museum

The history of Hispano Suiza is showcased, for the very first time, in the Peralada Castle Museum (Girona, Spain) where visitors will be able to contemplate the past and present of the legendary car brand founded in 1904 by Damián Mateu and Mark Birkigt. The Hispano Suiza Room will close the usual tour of the Peralada Castle Museum. After years of researching to gather the largest number of pieces and objects related to its history, Hispano Suiza becomes part of this important collection. The Hispano Suiza exhibition encompasses a journey through various decades: from the beginning of the 20th century, when Hispano Suiza was founded, to the present day. After passing through a luxurious hall, the public will be able to visit a recreation of the offices of Damián Mateu and Mark Birkigt, where countless business and technical ideas, emerged and took shape, turning Hispano Suiza into a point of reference, for luxury, comfort and technical solutions. In this area, the original painting 'Dame with a mink' by Ramon Casas takes pride of place: it was used as an illustration on the company's original shares.
