Into The Wild Frontier - Jim Beckwourth: War Chief of the Crow: When former slave Jim Beckwourth heads west to seek work as a trapper, he begins what will become one of the most eventful, heroic lives of all the mountain men. As a joke, one of Beckwourth's fellow trappers tells a group of Crow warriors that Beckwourth is a long-lost member of their tribe, and the adventure begins. Adopted by the Crow, Beckwourth joins them in a series of ferocious battles with other tribes, becomes a war chief, and falls in love with a fierce female warrior named Pine Leaf. He then uses his hard-won influence with the Crow to convince them to provide furs to the powerful American Fur Company. But an unexpected visit from legendary trapper and old friend Tom Fitzpatrick sets off a violent collision that forces Beckwourth to choose between the two worlds he loves.
