Jayananda Lama

Born in Bahrabise, Nepal, Lama was a renowned singer, composer, and actor who received national recognition at the age of 13 after winning a consolation prize in a nationwide competition. He earned degrees in classical music from Lalit Kala Campus and Allahabad University in India, later serving at the Royal Nepal Academy and as Head of the Folk Department at Radio Nepal. Making his acting debut in Man Ko Bandh (1973), he went on to appear in more than 100 films during his distinguished career. He passed away in Bhaktapur on 23 February 2022 at the age of 65.
