
Hazhar Omar
Hazhar Omar was born in 1987 in Erbil. He began his artistic journey at an early age, entering the creative field in 2000. By 2005, he had established his presence in the media industry, working as a photographer and producer of cultural and artistic news. Over the years, Hazhar Omar has developed a multifaceted career in cinema and media, contributing in a wide range of roles including actor, cinematographer, videographer, sound recordist, assistant director, and production planner. His diverse expertise reflects a deep, practical engagement with the full spectrum of audiovisual storytelling. As a filmmaker, he has directed three documentary films and three short films, demonstrating a commitment to both narrative and non-fiction forms. His works often reflect a grounded understanding of visual language and production dynamics shaped by years of hands-on experience. Hazhar remains actively engaged in the film and media industries. He is a founding committee member of the National Cinema Organization and serves as its Vice President. In addition, he is an active member of the Artists Union, Erbil branch, contributing to the development and support of the regional artistic community.
