Nadika Weligodapola
Nadika Weligodapola is a prolific composer, music producer, and performing artist from Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has been trained as a traditional dancer since childhood. Nadika has composed, performed, and recorded music with both local and international artists. His debut album, “Land Of The Nirvana”, released in 2020, successfully merged experimental sound textures with a variety of sounds from World Music culture. The album seamlessly blended Sri Lankan Folk, Indian Classical, Jazz, Electronic, and Trance, creating multiple sonic voices that left listeners yearning for more. As the founder & co-director of THEEVRA Arts Organization (Est 2004), Nadika has made significant contributions to various directors, theatre, and dance companies as a composer and artistic director. Nadika has received numerous awards for Background Scoring in Film & Television as well as Composing for Ballet & Theatre. His original music score of the “Pithru” teledrama (directed by Ananda Abeynayake) is widely appreciated (Best Music Award in 3 leading Sri Lankan Award Ceremonies). He also co-composed the Background Score for the Sinhala movie “Bulletproof Children” (directed by Indika Ferdinando), which received the award for Best Background Score in the Signis Awards 2023. This film was the first-ever Sri Lankan movie to be mixed in the Dolby Atmos sound platform.
