M-Alain Bertoni (they/them) is a multidisciplinary filmmaker that crafts stories built on family dynamics, intersectionality, and self-identity, delivered inside a candy-coated shell made of the surreal, absurd, and horrific. Their films have screened in the NYC Filmmakers Co-Op New Year/New Works festival, United States Super 8 Film and Digital Video Festival, Oxford Film Festival, Northeast Film Festival Horror Fest, and Panic Fest. M-Alain also works as a producer who seeks to champion emerging and contemporary filmmakers that dare to confront societal issues from unique perspectives. Produced films include Algún Día (Dir. Anna Reynoso), Line Cutters (Dir. Claire Orrange), Comedy Man (Dir. Rev Rowe), and Play Dead! (Dir. Sawyer Serdula) M-Alain holds a B.A. in Film and Media Studies from Yale University and an M.F.A. in Creative Producing from UNC School of the Arts. They live with their fiancée and their two cats, Gatsby and Tiramisu.
