Chris Welcker
Chris Welcker CAS is an American production sound mixer. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Welcker initially pursued jazz performance and studied music before shifting his focus toward audio for visual media. After working in commercial scoring, he transitioned into production sound for film and television, advancing through roles such as utility sound technician and boom operator under the mentorship of Oscar‑winning sound professionals, including Kirk Francis. Early in his career as a production sound mixer, he worked on films including Keanu (2016), the Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt (2019), and Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020). Welcker's work on the Amazon Prime series Daisy Jones & The Six (2023) was honoured with the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, a recognition shared with Lindsey Alvarez, Mathew Waters, and Mike Poole, among others. Welcker's role as production sound mixer on Sinners (2025) garnered nominations from the Critics' Choice Awards, the San Diego Film Critics Society Awards, and the Astra Creative Arts Awards.
