Sol Saihati is a British gaffer. Saihati's early career included extensive work as a gaffer on short films and independent projects, as well as roles as a lighting technician and grip on major international features. His early credits include work on Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), X-Men: First Class (2011), Hugo (2011), World War Z (2013), Paddington (2014), and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016). By the mid-2010s, Saihati was regularly serving as gaffer on narrative features and television, including Rillington Place (2016), The Innocents (2018), The Essex Serpent (2022), and The Son (2022). His television work expanded further with Brave New World (2020), where he served as second-unit gaffer, and with The Crown (2016), where he contributed as gaffer to the visual effects unit. His film credits during this period also include additional or specialist lighting work on Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). In the 2020s, Saihati served as gaffer on the Apple TV+ series Silo (2023), across its second season and worked as gaffer on Ghosted (2023) for the UK unit. He was the gaffer on Academy Award Winner Chloe Zhao's Hamnet (2025) and Academy Award Winner Charlie Kaufman's short film How to Shoot a Ghost (2025), while taking on varied roles, including grip on Highest 2 Lowest (2025) and lighting designer on Locked (2025). He is also a gaffer on Marvel Television's VisionQuest (2026). Alongside his gaffer credits, Saihati has occasionally worked as a cinematographer on short films, including Icon (2006) and The Golden Boy (2010), and has contributed as a lighting consultant on Parthenope (2024).
