Swastik Kargupta

Swastik Kargupta is an Indian cinematographer, keen on a narrative-driven visual style that complements classical storytelling. His journey into the image began during his adolescence, nurtured alongside a rigorous academic background. Before getting formal technical training in Cinematography at Roopkala Kendro, he earned his BA and MA in Bengali Literature from Jadavpur University. Swastik brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, drawing heavy inspiration from his interests in literature, music and graphic art. He continues to live and work in Kolkata, steadily expanding his filmography with a focus on stories that demand a thoughtful, textural visual language.
