Pradeep Shahi

Pradeep Shahi is a British-Nepalese filmmaker known for introducing ambitious, genre-focused storytelling to the Nepali film industry. He gained significant recognition with his 2022 feature, 1915: Legend of the Gurkhas, a psychological war drama that explored the harrowing experiences of the first Gurkha to receive the Victoria Cross. He followed this with the 2023 mystery thriller Antim Sanskar (The Last Ritual), featuring Vijay Lama, which focused on a dark investigation in a traditional Himalayan setting. Shahi has become a pioneer in expanding the technical boundaries of Nepali cinema, most notably with the 2026 release Eklo - 1. This project is widely celebrated as Nepal's first major post-apocalyptic science fiction thriller, utilizing high-end visual effects and a grand scale previously unseen in the domestic market.
