朝鮮戰爭後期的1953年7月當戰爭各方在進行和平停戰談判時美軍為了在談判桌上增加籌碼命令克萊門斯中尉率領美軍一個連進攻沒有軍事價值的255高地他們知道板門店停戰談判可能隨時會達成和平協議所以一些士兵不太願意做無謂犧牲然而克萊門斯中尉認為這是他們的愛國職責在他的指揮下美軍在豬排山陣地上與中朝軍隊進行爭奪戰甚至進行殘酷的肉搏戰等到增援部隊到達時135人的連隊打的就剩下25個人
