《我的看護旅程》描述退休作家班，在遭逢悲劇後成為看護的故事。歷經六個月訓練，班的首位客戶是一名罹患肌肉萎縮症且滿口髒話的 18 歲青年崔佛。一人心理癱瘓，一人生理癱瘓，班和崔佛臨時起意踏上一場公路之旅，造訪一些崔佛從當地新聞看到而很想去的地方，包括他最盼望的終極目標─「世界上最深的坑」。在路上，他們載有個性的逃家女孩及孕婦一程，考驗他們在離開熟悉生活外的求生技能，並開始體悟希望及純粹友誼的重要。
