高中生奧莉薇亞和伊茲的好友珍自殺後，因為悲痛和進入夢想大學可能破滅而陷入恐懼，突然奧莉薇亞看見珍出沒周圍，並能利用珍的手機和網路帳號通訊，於是和伊茲分享後展開惡作劇。 之後伊茲為進入名校並擔心惡作劇被抓到而拋棄奧莉薇亞，但對質時奧莉薇亞將伊茲溺斃後逃跑，當警方認定伊茲自殺而校方也讓奧莉薇亞選讀名校，最終奧莉薇亞在演講時和珍點頭示好。
