知名影集《越獄風雲》保羅舒林執導，亞卓安布洛迪 、佛瑞斯特惠塔克兩大奧斯卡影帝主演。翻拍2001年德國電影《Das Experiment》，該片改編自馬利奧喬丹努的小說《黑盒子》。 故事敘述一個駭人聽聞的實驗，一位致力心理研究的科學家，集聚一群自願參與實驗的普通人，並分成兩組，進行「獄卒」與「囚犯」的角色扮演，以模擬一周的監獄生活。目的在觀察整個實驗過程中，這些人的互動方式與情緒變化。 一開始，大夥聯誼般嘻嘻哈哈，不認真看待這個實驗…，慢慢，扮演獄卒的一方，開始嘗試使用這些權力，發現不難玩、食髓之味後…，甚而濫用權力、動用私刑、乃至發洩莫名的情緒…。 面對失控的局面，犯人群起反抗…，難以壓制暴動，導致科學家全被獄卒扮演者囚禁，實驗負責人慘遭殺害，一座模擬性質的監獄，竟比真實的監獄更充斥殺戮之氣…。
