安東自幼喜歡音樂和舞蹈，經常隨著阿拉伯音樂起舞，兒時的他深深愛慕著鎮上理髮店的老闆娘席菲太太，三天兩頭便往理髮店跑，每當席菲太太彎下腰幫他剪髮或洗頭的過程中，她身上那淡淡的洗髮精香氣，以及若有似無的身體接觸，總叫他小鹿亂撞…於是他立志長大後要娶理髮師為妻。多年後，安東如願在街角的理髮店遇見了他的女神瑪蒂德。在見到瑪蒂德的第一眼，他便下定決心要與她共度一生。然而，在幸福美滿的婚姻生活中，瑪蒂德眼裡的悲傷卻日漸加深，在某個風雨交加的夜晚，兩人一如往常地歡愛，完事後瑪蒂德獨自離開了家門，再也沒有回來…
