剧情
唐諾伍德（凱文克萊 飾）是南非一家報社的主編，他曾寫了多篇報導抨擊史蒂夫畢可（丹佐華盛頓 飾），但是在與史蒂夫碰面之後，他立刻改變了原先的負面印象，後來他們又持續來往，也因此引起秘密警察的關切。史蒂夫遭到警方拘禁並死亡，唐諾決定為他寫本書洗刷冤屈，但這本書在南非無法出版，唯一能發表的方式，只有冒著生命危險潛逃出這個國家，才能將這位自由鬥士的事蹟昭告世人…
