影片講述一對男女普通朋友，面臨身邊的親友紛紛結婚，為了在整個夏季一系列婚禮中「倖存」，於是同意作為彼此的男伴和女伴出席婚禮。 這部1小時39分鐘的影片裡，出現了12場不同的婚禮，Andrew表示這是影片製作時最大的挑戰，畢竟這不是一部巨資預算的電影，要在12個不同地點打造場景不同的婚禮其實很難。好在美術團隊非常聰明，且有創意地找到解決方法，將每場婚禮都打造得相當真實，令觀眾能在觀看時看到熟悉的「這種伴郎」、「這種敬酒詞」等，產生共鳴。
