第四次忍界大戰結束的兩年後，此時此刻的漩渦鳴人（竹內順子配音）早已成為蓋世英雄一般的人物，無論他走到哪裡都受到女孩子和小朋友的喜愛與追捧，他似乎也有其享受這樣喧囂歡鬧的氛圍。與之相對，壁花小姐日向雛田（水樹奈奈配音）則始終站在角落裡，默默注視著這個她喜歡了多年的男孩子。雛田親手為鳴人織了圍巾，怎奈無法鼓足勇氣交給對方，喜歡的話語更難以說出口。某個夜晚，雛田的妹妹花火（淺井清己配音）遭到不明身份之人劫持，帶火的隕石則落在附近的山坡之上。為了救回花火，阻止地球毀滅，鳴人，雛田，小櫻（中村千繪配音），鹿丸（森久保祥太郎配音）和佐井奉命前去調查舍人）的真身。在此過程中，鳴人不小心知曉了雛田的心意......本片情節介乎“火影忍者”漫畫699話和700話之間。
