故事講述任職30年的潛水艇航員突然遭到公司意外解雇，長年的水手生涯已經使他妻離子散、無所依傍，在舊友聚會中他得知二次大戰石沉黑海的納粹寶藏，他興起了組織船員、出海搜尋黃金的念頭，但當他們的航程越靠近寶藏時，船員間卻出現對於寶藏分配不滿的激烈爭執，並且在封閉的船艙內越演越烈。
