一直以賭博為生的邁克決定要洗心革面脫離賭徒生涯，並且進入大學就讀法律，同時邁克也答應他的紅粉知己而且也是他同班同學喬，他再也不涉足賭場。可是當他最要好的朋友渥姆出獄來投靠他時，使得邁克他不得不重操舊業．因為渥姆積欠了黑道一筆錢，他必須在最短的時間內得到這筆錢，否則渥姆就要以命抵償。麥克在迫不得已的情況之下，只好回到投資報酬率最快，風險也最高賭場，如果他們不在五天之內拿到一萬五千元美金，他們就會命喪地下錢莊……
