時值第一次世界大戰的尾聲，一群飽受驚嚇的隧道兵必須帶領一隊協約軍，深入戰壕一百呎以下的德軍秘密基地。不料德軍具有高度傳染性的生化武器卻早已失控，被傳染的受害者都會成為喪心病狂的殺人魔，協約軍這才發現自己被困在瘟病肆虐的人間煉獄，還必須面對受命收拾殘局卻不幸染病發狂的德國衝鋒兵。這群歷經風霜的士兵萬萬沒想到，唯一比西方戰線更加駭人的事物，居然就隱身在戰場壕溝的地底深處……
