本片根据DC漫画2011年的大事件“闪点”改编。闪电侠巴里·艾伦一觉醒来，发现整个世界时间线都被改变了，自己不再是闪电侠，没有了超能力，而年幼时去世的母亲居然活生生站在自己面前。不仅如此，正义联盟也从没存在过，世界即将毁灭于神奇女侠带领的亚马逊人和海王手下的亚特兰蒂斯人之间的大战。巴里找到高谭市的蝙蝠洞，发现那晚在犯罪巷死去的不是韦恩夫妇，而是布鲁斯，布鲁斯的父亲托马斯成为了手段狠辣的蝙蝠侠。在说服了托马斯之后，巴里断定反派逆闪电是造成这一切的罪魁祸首，试图恢复自己的能力，修正被改得一塌糊涂的时间线。
