高中生洁西卡、班尼、迪安、艾瑞克和琳达，打算用手机拍摄他们的冒险经历影片，只为了能在社群网站上获得人气。他们决定潜入一间有名的废弃公寓，琳达说服管理员让他们进去后，五人发现了一间被警用封锁线围起来的公寓，在好奇心驱使下他们闯入了公寓。他们四处搜索，并在房间裡发现了一张老旧的牛皮纸，身为唯一看得懂牛皮纸上文字的人，琳达朗读纸上咒语，一个神秘的入口突然出现…五人发现自己无意间打开了通往神秘世界的入口，不仅如此，还触怒了守护入口的超自然生物⋯。一场变调的试胆大会，唤醒了惊悚的灵异杀机，现在他们心中只剩下对死亡的恐惧、与回家的渴望……
