七仙女（方盈 饰）是玉皇大帝最小的女儿，从小饱受父母和姐姐们的宠爱。天庭日复一日的枯燥生活让七仙女觉得忍无可忍，于是，她背着父母偷偷的来到了人间，殊不知自己的所作所为已经冒犯了天条。 在人间，七仙女邂逅了名为董永（凌波 饰）的男子。董永自幼家境贫寒，父亲去世之后，他甚至都拿不出银子好好的安葬父亲的尸骨。为了赚钱，他卖身来到了当地的大户人家传家，要在那里为奴三年。董永的孝心和悲惨境遇感动了七仙女，于是她决定运用自己的仙术来帮助董永度过难关。在此过程中，董永和七仙女之间也碰撞出了爱情的火花。
