托尼是各省的一名男子气概的中年校车司机，没有朋友或亲戚。突如其来的心脏病发作使他陷入了混乱。托尼确信他会死。当他的心脏病专家警告他：我们都需要别人。独自一人，我们什么都不是。托尼决定与他二十年前抛弃的女儿重新建立联系，当时她还只是个婴儿。他仍然是一个懦夫，无法鼓起勇气直接面对她。因此，他决定报名参加她在巴黎教的舞蹈课。当然是隐身。为了逐渐了解她......绝望地试图给他空虚的生活赋予一些意义。在这个过程中，他还有不少舞步要学！
