剧情
讲述了至今在电影界都属禁忌类的话题——恋童癖，当年就因为把主角拍摄得比较正面而备受争议。60年代英国电影界的剧本质量绝不能小瞧，对白风趣机智又不乏深刻见解，从专业精神病学的角度来看也很有趣，例如恋童癖的形成原因、儿童心理中的性诱惑（通常人们认为儿童是被诱惑拐骗的一方），是值得脱离道德正确逻辑思考的。惠特曼的形态非常内敛，但深邃的眼神总准确描绘出角色的欲望、挣扎和情感，威尔士扮演的爱尔兰精神医师更是经典，冷酷、直白、幽默，更重要的是：充满了同情心与爱。
