18년이라는 긴 시간동안 미국의 큰 회사에서 일 하다가 형의 죽음으로 인하여 아버지의 영토를 물려받으러 돌아온 래리 탈봇. 돌아온 도시에서 탈봇은 어여쁜 처녀, 그웬을 만나고, 그웬으로부터 늑대인간에 대한 이야기를 듣게 된다. 그웬에게 끈질긴 데이트 신청 후 얻어낸 것은 함께 집시에게 점을 보러 가는 것. 그웬은 친구인 제니와 동행하고, 제니는 그 날밤 늑대인간의 공격을 받는다. 래리는 위험에 빠진 제니를 도와 늑대를 은지팡이로 때려서 죽이지만, 가슴에 커다란 상처를 얻게된다. 그 후 조용했던 도시에 이어지는 살인사건으로 탈봇가의 커다란 명예는 바닥으로 떨어지고, 래리는 늑대인간에게 물려 자기 자신이 늑대인간이 된 것을 깨닫는다. 모든 살인이 늑대인간 래리의 소행이라는 것을 알게 된 도시 경찰들은 래리를 죽이려하고, 가문의 명예를 회복하려는 탈봇시장은 래리를 숨기지만, 늑대인간으로 변신한 래리는 빠져나와 자신의 다음 피해자인 그웬을 죽이려든다. 이 때 탈봇시장은 그웬을 죽이려드는 래리의 은지팡으로 래리를 때려서 죽이면서 가문의 명예를 다시 찾게 된다.
