무장 강도죄로 12년을 복역한 기결수 지미(제이슨 서데이키스 분)가 가석방된다. 그는 풀려나자 암으로 죽어가는 여자 친구 애니(이밴절린 릴리 분)에게 최고의 마지막 한 해를 만들어주겠다고 다짐한다. 하지만 모든 일이 간단하지 않다. 지미는 보호 관찰관(셰이 위검 분)으로부터 소위 "부업"을 받게 되고, 그 일로 지역 범죄 조직의 보스(마이크 콜터 분)에게 쫓기는 일련의 사건들이 시작된다. 이제 그는 애니를 구하기 위해 물불을 가리지 않고 그들에게 남은 시간이 얼마든 싸워야 한다.
