비 미국팀으로선 미국 역사상 최초로 어린이 야구를 제패한 멕시코 야구 꿈나무의 감동 실화를 담은 영화다. 인종 차별이 남아 있던 1957년. 멕시코 몬테레이 출신 가난한 야구 꿈나무들이 사상 처음으로 미국 최대 어린이 야구리그인 리틀 리그 월드 시리즈에 진출하게 된다. 아이들은 다 떨어진 글러브를 끼고 국외 추방 협박 등 수많은 난관을 이겨내며 퍼펙트 게임 신화를 이어간다. 결국 13연승 끝에 결승에 올라 박빙의 승부 끝에 우승을 거머쥔다. 멕시코의 가난한 어린이 야구단을 색안경을 끼고 보던 모든 미국인도 야구와 함께 하나가 된다.
