무장을 한 코트 차림의 남자들에 의해 손님을 가득 실은 지하철이 납치된다. 그들은 지하철 본부로 연락해서 승객들의 목숨의 댓가로 현금 백만불을 요구한다. 그리고 승객 두 명을 그 자리에서 사살한다. 이에 경찰은 백만불을 건네주고 거기다 속수무책으로 범인들을 놓친다. 범인들은 속임수를 쓰기 위해 자신들은 하차하고 지하철 브레이크를 파괴한다. 경찰은 이제 범인들을 잡아야하고 위험에 빠진 승객들도 구출해야 한다. 하지만 그 안에는 한 명의 영웅, 지하철의 도사 가버가 이 범인을 따라 추격한다.
