미국의 초대형 비밀 프로젝트 ‘스위치 블레이드’. 레이더는 물론 적외선과 눈으로도 식별할 수 없는 초음속 투명 스텔스기 ‘스위치 블레이드’가 국제적으로 악명 높은 무기 밀매상 건다즈의 손에 들어간다. 정부는 부다페스트에서 있을 비밀 경매에 첩보원 알렉스(오웬 윌슨)를 파견하기로 결정하지만, 어리버리한 알렉스 외에 건다즈가 절대 의심하지 않을 사람이 필요하다. 이때 건다즈가 57승 무패 경력의 세계 미들급 챔피언인 켈리(에디 머피)의 열렬한 팬이라는 정보가 입수된다. 오늘부터 나도 스파이?! 위장 스파이로 세계 평화를 지켜달라는 대통령의 부탁을 흔쾌히 승낙한 켈리. 허구헌날 동료에게 치이고 변변한 장비도 받지 못하던 자급자족 스파이 알렉스에 비해 얼떨결에 된 켈리는 능수능란하게 임무에 적응한다. 서로 물먹이기 바쁜 와중에서도 부다페스트에서 접선한 섹시한 요원 레이첼(팜케 얀센)과 함께 임무를 수행해 나가던 두 사람은 차츰 실종된 스텔스기를 찾는 것 이상으로 거대하고 위험한 국제적 음모에 휘말리게 되는데…
