하와이의 우거진 수풀 사이로 산악 자전거를 즐기던 평범한 청년 션 존스(나단 필립스 役). 그런 그의 눈에 우연히 띈 건 참혹한 살해 현장! 잔인하고 극악무도한 범죄자 에디 킴이 벌인 이 사건은 션을 큰 위험의 구렁텅이에 빠뜨리게 되는데.. 법망을 교묘히 피해가며 범죄를 저지르던 에디 킴은 살해까지 저지르며 자신의 범죄를 은폐하려 한다. 하지만 살해 현장의 목격자 션으로 인해 모든 것이 밝혀질 위기에 처하자, 무슨 수를 써서라도 그를 죽이려 한다. 한 편, 션은 FBI 넬빌 플린(사무엘 L. 잭슨 役)의 보호 아래 LA의 법정 증인으로 호송되는 비행기에 오른다. 아무런 이상을 체크하지 못한 채 비행기는 이륙하지만.. 에디 킴의 하수인들이 치밀하게 숨겨놓은 수백마리의 뱀들이 독을 품은채 비행기 안에 도사리고 있는데..,!
