성경 사무엘하에 있는 내용을 바탕으로, 전남편 유리아가 죽은 후 다윗왕에게 재가하여 솔로몬을 낳은 밧세바의 이야기!! 한여름날 저녁 궁전 집에서 바람을 쐬던 다윗은 멀리 한 여인을 보게 되었다. 마음에 들은 다윗은 그녀가 히타이트 사람 유리아의 아내이며, 유리아는 아브텔을 죽이고도 처벌을 받지 않은 장수 요압의 부하라는 사실을 알았다. 다윗은 그녀의 남편 유리아를 궁으로 초대하여 환대하고 요압에게 전할 편지를 한 통 주어 보냈다. 편지의 내용은 그를 최전방으로 보내 적에게 죽게 내버려두라는 내용의 편지였는데….
