오딜은 영어 수업에서 프란츠와 그의 친구 아르튀르를 만난다. 파리 근교에서 이모와 사는 오딜은 이모 부부가 엄청난 액수의 현금을 집에 숨겨 두었다는 걸 프란츠에게 이야기하고, 프란츠와 아르튀르는 오딜을 설득해 이모 부부의 돈을 훔치자고 한다. 셋은 함께 시간을 보내고, 오딜은 아르튀르와 사랑에 빠진다. 마침내 결전의 날, 그들의 절도 행각은 계획대로 진행되지 않는데... 장뤽 고다르가 25일만에 촬영을 마쳤다고 하는 영화. 오딜, 아르튀르, 프란츠가 카페에서 춤을 추는 장면은 특히 명장면으로 손꼽힌다.
