장-클로드와 피에로는 여기저기 떠돌며 여자들을 희롱하고, 금품을 갈취한다. 길을 걷던 둘은 주차되어 있던 멋들어진 차를 훔친다. 신나게 드라이브를 즐긴 두 사람은 차를 돌려 놓으려 하지만, 총을 들고 위협하는 차의 주인과 마주한다. 장-클로드와 피에로는 엉겁결에 차는 물론, 차주와 함께 있던 마리-앙주까지 납치해 달아난다. 두 친구의 어처구니없는 행보에 범상치 않은 여인들이 함께 하게 된다. 블리에가 자신이 쓴 소설을 각색해 영화화했다. 선정적인 성 묘사, 도덕적 모호함으로 논쟁을 불러일으키기도 했다.
