Nick, depuis sa rencontre avec Beth, est officiellement devenu Père Noël. Mais depuis un an, ses nouvelles fonctions l'ont tellement accaparé que son mariage avec Beth est sans cesse repoussé. Or, la tradition ne change pas: Nick doit épouser Beth le plus rapidement possible afin que celle-ci seconde son mari le soir de Noël. Beth va alors faire appel à sa mère, Joanna, afin qu'elle n'organise son mariage. Mais cette rentière semble plus que récalcitrante aux traditions de Noël...
