L'agent secret britannique David Grant est à la recherche du docteur Hansen, un scientifique suédois spécialiste des questions atomiques, disparu depuis six mois. Ses travaux ayant été envoyés à l'agent allemand Keitel, en Irlande, Grant embarque sur un bateau pour Dublin.
