Steven Fitzgerald, journaliste à New York, rencontre un leprechaun et une belle jeune femme lors d'un voyage en Irlande. Le journaliste est alors tiraillé entre ses ambitions et ses envies de richesse en Amérique et son besoin de retrouver ses racines irlandaises.
