巨大な宇宙貨物船に侵入した一匹の異星生物の恐怖。地球への帰途についていた宇宙貨物船ノストロモ号は、謎の救難信号を受けて未知の惑星に降り立つ。そこには異星人の船があり、船内には無数の奇怪な卵が存在していた。卵から飛び出した奇妙な生物が顔に貼り付いた航宙士ケインを回収し、ノストロモ号は再び航海につくが、彼の体内にはすでに異星生物の幼体が産みつけられていたのだ。ケインの腹を突き破り姿を現したエイリアンは脱皮を繰り返し巨大に成長、一人また一人と乗組員を血祭りにあげていく……。
